With Halloween fading into the background, London-based post-punk enthusiasts Heartworms have shared their sinister debut single. Following a stellar collaboration with Savage Gary (aka Dan Carey) some 7 months ago (see our List Pick here), 'What Can I Do' is the first peek under a presumably black velvet cloak that veils Heartworms' sound. Embracing the good gothic work of seminally spooky icons Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division and even The Sisters of Mercy, Jojo Danielle's witchy vocals are comparatively light and eerie. Entangling chorus-drenched bass, spiky guitars and haunting synths, an industrial beat in an echo chamber of reverb keeps things grounded. Check out 'What Can I Do' here now. -Holly Mullineaux
